Computer is broken... ;-(

Well, my computer has been broken for a while. Thankfully it's at a friends who is diagnosing the problem. So I hope we'll have it back soon, and up and running full speed ahead...pumping out blog posts for g-ma and g-pa at full blast.
But in the meantime, i decided to post a few of my phone photos that I have had stored up for a while. So, here they are in no particular order. A few random stories with photos for your viewing pleasure.
Eden and Tex are pretty much the best of friends. I couldn't have asked for a better big sister for Tex, and if Tex knew how to talk...he wouldn't be able to ask for a better big sister either.

This day, Eden was playing at the playground, but had wandered across the field to look at the ducks on the other side of this fence. I shouted across the park, "Eden, get back here please." She didn't come running, so I shouted, "I'm counting to 5 and you better be back here. 1........2.........3......." I noticed she wasn't running, but was squirming all around. After a few moments, I realized she was stuck. I started to jog across the field to help her out, and when I arrived...this is what I saw.

We were at a friend's house the other day. 2 silly girls + one bouncy bed = a whole lotta giggles

Texton's his name-Eating's his game. This boy has a new found love with food. I'm pretty sure he'll be weaning himself pretty soon. When we decided to wean Eden at 13 months it was as though the poor kid was coming off heroin. But, Tex seems to be taking a more gradual, self directed approach. He is constantly eating anything you will put in his mouth...and of course he eats all the things you don't want in his mouth either.
And I am loving this discovery phase he is in. The other day we were at the water park with the kids. There was a little fountain coming out of the ground. Tex crawled over to it, and began pinching the sprouting stream between his fingers trying to grab the water. He'd try and try again, but to no avail. For some reason he just couldn't grab the water. So, he tried to pick up a few leaves next to him...no problem. He studied his hand and looked a little confused. After a moment. He set the leaf down, and tried to grab the water again...but it didn't work!! "Silly broken hands" he seemed to be thinking to himself. He picked up the leaves again...no problem!! Then, he tried the water. "What is going on here?" was written all over his face. I wished I had the camera.
But, yesterday I had the camera at this moment. He had crawled under a lawn chair, and for some reason he couldn't crawl out from under it. I, being 27 years his elder, could easily see that the bar from the chair kept hitting him in the forehead...hindering his exit from underneath the chair. But, he persisted and tried and tried again for about 5 minutes. He could never quite get his head low enough, and after he was frustrated I lifted the chair to help him out. But it was sure CUTE watching him try and try again.;-)

She looks ready for the football game...

Yup, this is what happens when you give a 2 year old a plate full of assorted finger-paints in her high chair, and her Mom and Dad turn their backs for a good 15 minutes to catch up on Facebook and over the phone with mainland family.

I figured Grandma would enjoy seeing a few more of these. ;-)

My friend's wise Mom...

So,
I was just catching up on an old friends blog...and she is pregnant with #2! I was reading a few comments and came across the one her Mom wrote. Her Mom used to be one of my Young Women's leaders in church when I was 12, so...I take her wisdom as scripture. ;-)

She said, "Your hands may be full now but later on it will be your heart." And I just thought that is so sweet, and so true. And I wanted to share it with all of you...my favorite busy mommies in blog world. Love you guys!

Today I am thankful for my 2 very full hands... and my beautiful children that fill them...because they truly fill my heart everyday.

I wanna talk about me...

So, I feel like saying a few things about myself at the moment...

I just learned how to play "Hit me baby one more time" on the guitar. Move over Britany Spears.

And I took this photo of me the other day while looking at myself in the mirror at Children's Place. Hello "Mom look"...wow.

And today I tried on my "goal jeans"...and guess what? They fit! ;-) Whoop Whoop. So, I better use this nap time wisely and get to my work out so that they will continue to fit. Too bad it's an hour and a half of yoga...gag me. yuck....Oh awesome! Tex just woke up. Maybe I won't have to work out after all...till bed time that is. ;-)

Tuck-in Time

Dear Eden, You are always so good about reading your Dad a bedtime story. ;-)

I'm a little confused...

So I thought kids first learned to crawl, then walk, and then climb...

Well, if that is the case...can someone please tell me how my son ended up on top of this green hamper today?

I guess boys just follow different rules. ;-)

Well, we could go to the "Z" "O" "O"

So, last saturday morning...(after an 11 mile jog/walk) Jonathon and I were secrety discussing in front of Eden what we should do for the day.

Since we don't like her to get too excited about what we may or may not do that day, we try to speak in code and spell things out instead of just saying them.
So, we were debating. And Jonathon said, "Well, we could head to the 'Z..o...o' today". Just then Eden's little head pops up. "I wanna see elephants!" She shouted. "I wanna go zoo!!"

And so our minds were made up. Off to the zoo we went....like a herd of snails. I can't believe how much time it takes to get 2 kids ready to get out the door for a day. Snacks? check, change of clothes? check, potty break? check, strollers? check, kids? check, car seats in car? check...yadda...yadda. I swear it took over an hour.

Saddly the price of parking had gone up 4 times!! It used to be 25 cents an hour. Now- 25 cents for 15 minutes! And admission was up $2 a person too. So, we decided to just buy a years pass instead. So, now we will have LOTS of trips to the zoo to look forward too. Especially after those water park passes expire at the end of the year.

I didn't have my camera cause the batteries were dead, but I got a few with my phone before the batteries on that died too.

Yes, she really just layed down on the ground and snuggled with the goats at the petting zoo...classic Eden.

Tex didn't seem to get too excited about anything. He just enjoyed cruising in the stroller for the most part.

To finish the evening off, we headed to Chuck E Cheese, and we were determined not to spend any money. So, Eden played in the free Jungle Gym there and cought a few rides on the carousel, jeep, and trolly on some other kids dime. ;-)

And on the way home we made a stop at Orange Tree. One of our favorite self serve frozen yogurt treats. I'd say it was a great day.

This is tooo funny - a must read
So, we get home late...it's pitch dark. I can barely see. We are standing at the door to the house waiting for Jonathon to unlock the house. He unlocks it and flips on the porch light where Eden Tex and I are still standing. And in Eden's hand is a toad...and she is holding him just like so, "baby talking" to it.

What is looks like to be a sick mommy

Don't worry, I'm not sick again*knock on wood*, but when you have a "Sick Mommy Day" at my house, it looks something like this...

You spend most your day lying on the couch with your 2 year old restrained in a restraining device such as this...

While she watches movies on the computer

And when she gets bored you blow some bubbles at each other and try to pop them...And your house starts to look like thisAnd you are hoping there are no choking hazzards on the floor becuase a sweet little man is crawling around everywhere his 4 limbs will carry him...and every so often he pops up on your couch to say hello...

Though it wasn't fun being sick, I am soooooooooo thankful that my 2 kiddos were soooooooooo easy going that day. What 2 year old stays willingly in her high chair from 10am till 1 pm? And before she was in her high chair she was on the ground playing with her brother making sure he wasn't playing with anything he shouldn't be (ie: electrical cords, papers, and assorted choking hazards)...she is really an amazing Mamma's helper. Thanks so much Eden. I couldn't have made it through the day without you.

And by day 2, I was feeling all better. Except for the little man, who seemed to have caught what I had. But the good part about that was all the snuggle time we had on that same couch.

Hahahaha...too funny.

It's a little past season for this, but we had fun putting it together this morning anyway. Eden loves watching it over and over and over and...

They say...

They say you don't know what you got till it's gone. And hopefully I don't have to wait till then to appreciate how wonderful my husband is. I've said it before and I'll tell you again...he's the best.
Just look at these kids. Could they have a cooler Dad or what?

Watching Cinderella
Eden wanted to check in the mirror to see if she also had a pink part in her eye like Daddy's.In the spirit of November and Thanksgiving, can I just say again how awesome this Dad is? I don't tell him the good things he does nearly often enough...and yet somehow he continues to do good things still. Like work everyday while I stay home with the 2 best cute fun kids. Or clean out my car...let alone the fact that he bought me a car so that I could go on fun outings with my 2 best cute fun kids. Have I mentioned lately that I love my life and the people in it? I really really do. I may complain from time to time, and sometimes more often than others. But, I really love my life. And I have my sweety to thank for it.
