Sunday Morning
The kids both looked so cute in their new outfits I just had to take a few pictures before heading to nursery to get glue and orange punch on Eden's new dress and spit up and poop on Tex's cute new attire.
Eden's dress was given to me for Christmas in '06. I was still pregnant with her and I thought there was NO WAY that is was ever going to fit her...this morning it did. And she couldn't have looked cuter.
Trauma at Taco Bell
Today we took Eden to Taco Bell to enjoy a delicious plate of triple layer nachos while we waited for our Pepperoni Pizza from nextdoor at Pizza Hut.
While we were there, Eden somehow managed to get her foot stuck...and I mean STUCK between the wall and the booth. I could tell as soon as I started to try and help her pry it out that it was going to be quite difficult. So I tried to make it seem funny to Eden by laughing a lot so she wouldn't get worried. She believed me for a minute or two, but eventually it got pretty painful for her, and she started getting pretty scared.
Jonathon tried to poor water on her leg to see if we could get it to slip, but it wasn't helping much. After a few minutes we asked the workers there if they had any grease we could borrow. By this point I was starting to get worried we might need to call a firetruck, and Eden was definately in tears.
A guy brought me a big tin of some sort of grease...probably canola oil. I greased up Eden's leg, the wall, and the side of the booth. Gave her leg a good push and out it came!!! The guy ran back to the counter and grabbed Eden a little book which calmed her tears in an instant as she started tearing her teeth into the plastic wrapping around it to open it. Crisis was over.
I wish I knew the guys name since I now feel like he saved my life...I feel bad calling him "the guy" I should call him my super hero....okay fine. Jonathon is looking over my shoulder and wants some credit in this story since he was the one who went to ask for the grease after he thought of asking for it. ;-) So he is the knight in shining armor.
So after my super hero and knight in shining armor saved the day , I finished off Eden's nachos, we grabbed our pizza, and headed to the playground. We ran into a lot of friends there, and by the end of the night we had had a great evening.
***But really, why would they make a 2 inch gap between the booth and the wall?? Why? The other booth in the restaurant wasn't like that? I guess we will just have to sit at that booth from now on...note to friends.***
She did it again...
Remember the gecko from last night??? Here is round 2. We found this gecko while Eden was napping. Dad saved it for her to play with when she woke up....she was SOOO excited. I'll let the pictures tell most the story
Giving baby a chance to see and love the gecko
Passing it back and forth to Daddy
Letting baby touch it
Putting it in Daddy's hair
Putting it in her own hair...;-)
Did you notice what color she purposely placed gecko on below??? (not sure why this is a link...)
Taking a little relaxing break in his salsa jar
And out for just a little more love before being returned to the great outdoors.

Dear Aunt Jennie
Looks like she learned lots from your dance lessons...we know you will do great in St. George too!! Love you!
**A quick note on the second video. This is what she did to Jonathon tonight as he was tucking her into bed. Jennie taught her this little game while we were visiting AZ. In the video Eden is saying "Daddy go up up up...Daddy go down down down...Daddy go all around." The video is really dark since we were putting her to bed, but she is holding her Dad by his hair and pulling his head up...hahahaha.**

Totally Eden
We took Eden to the playground tonight as a reward for finishing her dinner...well we also gave her some pink gum for finishing her dinner. We like to reward a lot around here.
Anyway, at the park she found a little baby gecko. Probably an inch and a half long from nose to tail. She caught the little guy with her own hands. She loved it and held it tight between her two little fingers. He got scared and dropped his tail. She thought it was pretty funny how the tail wiggled in her other hand after falling off.
While she was watching the tail wiggling, the now tail-less gecko got away. But, Eden again caught the poor little guy.
She held this gecko tight tight tight. Jonathon and I were both worried for this poor little guys life.
After about 10 minutes of carrying the gecko around, taking him down the slides, and helping him get a drink from the drinking fountain I noticed that the gecko seemed to flop lifelessly around between Eden's fingers. It was pretty sad, but she was in love. Eventually it was time to go, so we talked Eden into leaving the gecko so it could go see his mommy and daddy. She set the poor guy down who we assumed was dead. I looked closely...it was breathing!! I couldn't believe it. Jonathon nudged it's tiny little leg and it crawled away! We couldn't believe this little guy survived Eden's death grip of love. After this Jonathon named him Lucky.
The whole way home she talked about the gecko going home to see his Daddy...crazy.
Rediculous!
I tried to vote for Tex...did you? I think it is impossible, so don't waste your valuable time. ;-) You just get sent in circle after circle of offers for this and that and emails about $100 reward offers and yadda yadda yadda...So, if you think Tex is cute you can just write a comment. And you can tell me how cute this kid is too. :-) And to those of you who attempted to vote and went around and around till you and your mouse and clicker finger were dizzy....THANK YOU!
Wanna vote for Tex??
So, I had nothing better to do while the babies were napping today than to enter Tex into the cutest baby contest.
Now, if you are reading this I assume you don't have much better to do either...so click the link and vote for this chubbily bubbily chunk of happiness!! :-)
Oh, and you can vote as often as you like. So if you often have nothing better to do click here!! lots...and I'll share my $2500 with you!!!
Sometimes I am guilty of this...
I don't try to be, but none the less.
Today after letting the kids run wild at the playground we headed to the Temple Visitors Center to try and escape some of the humidity and heat...yuck! The kids had a lot of fun running around, the sister missionaries made Tex laugh for a good 10 minutes straight as they played peek=a=boo and tickled him.
Eden and her friends ran around and watched "shows" (as Ambrose called them) on the TV's. At one point when I wasn't watching Eden ran behind the ropes to steal a star fish that she saw in one of the displays.
And us Mom's enjoyed some nice AC and were even allowed a few moments to relax in squishy chairs as we took turns nursing our new ones and watching each other's 2 year olds.
I'm glad I have such wonderful friends to hang out with. But I am most glad that I have the Gospel in my life. I have never expressed this on my blog, but it truely does bring me great joy. Sometimes I get so frustrated each evening after puting Eden to bed and I wonder what my purpose is as a mother. And I get frustrated with myself that I am not teaching her enough or spending enough time with her during the day. But, today as I was watching her explore the visitors center I felt a sense of calmness telling me that I am doing what is right by teaching her that her Heavenly Father loves her and that He wants her to do what is right to live with Him again someday. And that nothing else matters. Having the gospel in my life helps me to know what to cut out and what to keep, and for that I am greatful.
I loved watching Eden make sure that her baby also got to see Jesus. She said, "Look baby! You see Jesus? He up real high!" She also noticed the piercings in his hands and feet and lovingly asked if he needed bandaids. As we walked back to the car, I asked Eden "What was your favorite thing we did today?" I expected her to say the playground, but she said, "I saw Jesus Mommy". I pray that I can be the kind of Mom that will help her really meet our Savior one day.

Too much baby mamma
Dear Mom,
Looks like Eden and I watched Baby Mamma a few too many times while visiting. Today I found her peeing in my bathroom sink. I wanted to take a picture...but was worried about encouraging more of such behavior. ;-) It pretty much looked like this though.
If you aren't sure what I am talking about...click here
Kids say the darndest and sweetest
Eden just saw this photo on the computer screen a moment ago and said...
"Look! Eden holding Jesus!"
Mmmmm....not exactly-but it is a sweet thought.:-)

We are back!
Thanks for all your thoughts, well wishes, and prayers. We made it onto the first flight...Eden was an angel and we ran into many other helpful angels along the way. I've been up with Tex since 5 since he thinks it is 8. :-) But I can't complain. Most my friends are up at 5 everyday! And who wouldn't want to be awake with a sweet chubby baby boy who loves to laugh and smile at you?
See you at the beach??? Aloha Friday!

Wish me luck!!!
I am (hopefully) getting on a flight tomorrow morning. There are 2 flights to Hawaii and I hope I can get on one of them.
I feel blessed to have so many wonderful people to come back to. :-)
So, wish me luck that I get on a flight....and wish me luck that my kids don't drive me too nuts!!
I'm sad to leave my family of course. Eden has had soooo much fun and so have I!
But I am looking forward to seeing all you Hawaii folks again soon! Especially my babies' Daddy!
And having some more good days together with friends like this....
I feel blessed to have so many wonderful people to come back to. :-)
Stories to remember
(This photo has nothing to do with the stories, except that they are about this sweet girl pictured above.)
My little brother pointed out to me the other day something he noticed about Eden. Each time you tell her NOT to do something, she asks you why she shouldn't.
For instance: "Eden, Don't climb up there." She would respond, "Fall down and get owies?"
I didn't really notice this till he pointed it out to me. So, yesterday when we got home from shopping, Eden was running around the house with out any pants on and Tex was still in his car-seat. I was unpacking and looked in the other room and saw Eden sitting in the car seat on top of her brother. I shouted, "Eden! We do NOT sit on brother! Get up right now!" To which she responded, "Put on my panties first?" It was very hard to keep a straight face as I explained to her that we DON'T sit on our little brother even if she is wearing panties.
One other funny story. Eden LOVES to get into my Mom's make up and has been in time-out several times for her offences. The other day I was getting Eden ready to take a nap in my Mom's room. My little brother was in my Mom's bathroom around the corner from us washing his face. Eden began shouting "Micah! Micah! No play with Gamma's make-up Micah!" She kept shouting this till Micah peeked around the corner to acknowledge Eden's excellent advice. Eden then told him, "Play with Gamma's make up get in BIG trouble."

A love note
Dear Jonathon,
I just wanted to write you a note to thank you so much for letting me be out here with my family. You are the sweetest guy around. Thanks for being willing to live with only pictures of me and the kids for the last 4 weeks. Thanks for working hard while I went shopping. Thanks for making your own meals while we went out to eat. Thanks for hanging out at the house by yourself while we swam in the pool together. I'm not trying to rub it in...I really appreciate all your do for me. You are the BEST!!
We'll be home soon. We love and miss you!! And wish you were here too.

Happy Birthday America!!!
To celebrate we headed out to the local firework show AKA "Fire-truck" show...as Eden called it.
I planned to make her a cute little tutu out of red white and blue ...but left my tulle in Hawaii and was feeling too cheap to spend the $3 to buy new stuff. But, I was able to make this little number out of my little sister's old white skirt and some ribbon and 5 safety pins. :-)
